In the Quran, one finds not only many violent verses, where death, mutilation and hellfire are prepared for all non-Muslims. There are also the infamous verses (Sura 5:59-60) where Muhammad relates that Allah transformed those Jews not believing in his revelations to apes and pigs, as a warning for others. This, in my opinion, is such a rude harassment of those of different beliefs that it should have no place in a book which ostensibly brings "Gods timeless message to mankind", and which even is recited from and memorized in every mosque in the world, large or small.
